East of Colorado Springs, Peyton and Falcon are horse properties, acreage and newer subdivisions on the open plains, with Pikes Peak on the western skyline.

On a few acres, the aerials are what show the barn, the arena, the fencing and the space between neighbors. I shoot them high enough to show the whole property and low enough to keep the home the hero.

Shooting in Peyton & Falcon

Every home I've photographed in Peyton and Falcon has been in uncontrolled (Class G) airspace, so the drone flies without FAA authorization. I still check for temporary flight restrictions, like wildfire closures, on the day of the shoot.
Wind on the plains can ground the drone. Mornings are usually calmer, so I book aerial-heavy shoots early in the day when I can.
